Another in the series of "articles" I like to call "WTF, Witchvox?".

http://www.witchvox.com/va/dt_va.html?a=uspa&c=words&id=10897

She forgot to tell us the actual results of her die rolls - she must be a free-form online witch, and not a traditional table-top one.

Seriously - what the fuck was the point of this? This is as bad as the kids I knew in high school telling me about what they did with ghosts when they'd get high in the cemetary, or that they summoned demons and "other shit".

She should have signed that piece of crap "Mary Sue".

*snerks and agrees*
fun reading, though. Makes for a good plot to a movie-of-the-week thing on TV. Has all the right elements:
-Powerful leader who has a weakness(doesn't remember crap)
-Groupies
-Skeptic
-Uber-powerful baddies
-mystery to be solved
-A 'Missing Link' in the events (see previous point)

but for writing it in the first person, I give it a failing grade.

*rubs temples* I have to agree with you.

Yeah, that one got amply dissected in one of the snark communities. She could have saved an awful lot of space by just writing "Hi! I'm a paranoid schizophrenic who plays too many roleplaying games and has completely lost the ability to differentiate between fantasy and reality."

Someone else I know recently submitted a spoof essay to them that was so over-the-fluffy as to be totally laughable, just to see if they'd miss the joke and accept it. We'll see... There certainly doesn't seem to be a lot of quality control over there any more.

well, everyone knows that when you're dealing with summoned 'other shit' (particularly of the dark and shadowy persuasion) and you start to go 'wolfy' you must IMMEDIATELY counteract this by shifting into your aye-aye-y or pangolin-y forms. This is the ONLY WAY. Of course, upon doing this you may start making sounds suspiciously like sloth having anal sex...or dying.....as these two sounds are suspiciously alike.

At any rate, this should effectively sheild you from the summoned 'other shit'. It is known. srsly.

(I really should get some sleep)

Wow. Just... wow.

Some days, I'm embarrassed to be pagan.

I get the impression, very often, that the main draw for certain people, to the magickal or pagan communities is that they can pretend that they have magical powers in a world that's far more interesting than "mundane" people live in.

In other words, the reason for participating in the community, or being pagan for some of these people isn't because they believe in anything - it's that they think that they can somehow make themselves or their lives seem more interesting, by making up stuff.

This aggravates me.

One of these days, I swear, I'm just going to snap, and I'm going to start sending _real_ scary things over to pester the people who make up stories about them. Actually, that would be work. Maybe I'll just start smacking people, and then telling them they should "improve their shields."
