Jan. 19th, 2010 06:21 pmI have just finally gotten around to doing some painting; I have been back and forth on one idea for years, but finally decided to do it. I repainted my Paul Borda Morrigan statue.
When I got Her, she was quite dirty; I cleaned Her up as much as I could, but it was never a really pleasing colour. I never could tell if it was the wood colour, or the stone colour - She'd collected a lot of dust, and cigarette tar (ugh!), so was always kind of a muddy grey-black-brown.
I ended up giving Her a nice deep-red-copper colour, with a black wash and bronze drybrushing. I think She's much more pleased with the result. Pics later, when the clear coat is dry.
Edit: Pictures are here -
http://www.witchscauldron.net/temp/statueflash.jpg - shows more of the base colour.
http://www.witchscauldron.net/temp/statuenoflash.jpg - shows the bronze drybrushing more.
http://www.witchscauldron.net/temp/fullsun.jpg - a much clearer photo, taken in direct sunlight
