Jan. 24th, 2007 01:11 pmwoo. what glorious fun. day three, no decent sleep before dawn. Got 3 hours the two previous nights. Today, I've gotten a whopping 4.5 hours. Sister Mary Sunshine I ain't.
My back is out. And when I say out, I mean "Elvis has left the building" out. It is just flat out angry with me, and the pain is not particularily tolerable anymore. Sitting up hurts today, which is new. Painkillers ahoy (well, more than normal, anyway).
If I seem like I'm a space cadet, or I can't spell, or I snark at someone - I'm sorry. My brain is starving and I can't feed it.

Date: 2007-01-24 07:14 pm (UTC)try this. make, buy, get, steal a cotton fabric bag. big and flat, the size of a large manilla envelope.
sew three vertical seams down it.
fill it not quite full with rice
add one packet of an herb tea, or up to three (one per channel)
(sleepytime, from celestial seasonings is nice, so is tension tamer)
sew it closed
this is now a back heating pad. heat in microwave for a minute, take it out, shake it, place on back
if you need a cold pack keep it in the freezer.
you can also spray it with water before microwaving to get moiset heat.
also, try soaking large bath towels in scalding hot water, wring them out a LOT and place on back. repeat
