Liath is sitting on my desk.
Apr. 28th, 2003 12:23 pmIt's Monday - huzzah? Long weekend.
Friday night Jason and I meandered around the zoo as it was closing. Couldn't find where they moved the meercats - apparently they had 4 babies this spring. Love the goats - I want one - and the swift foxes were out digging and enjoying the day too. The spider monkeys were being silly. I love the poison frogs...and the cougar and the serval were out too.The poor serval looked very bored - she was pacing. The deer kinda stayed away from the growling hungry Morg at the fence, and the turkeys all puffed up and rattled their tail quills at me. I must have been threatening somehow. o_O? I love the zoo. :)
I had an encounter with a baby squirrel - LJ ate the post. It was sitting in the middle of the street just up and around the corner from us. Lots of squirrels nest in the trees around here - we think he fell out. Our friend Steve pointed it out whilst we were talking in our cars. I got out and walked up to it. The little thing didn't even move away - it came closer. So CUTE! I restrained myself from touching it and helped it move off the road - it followed my shoes, and kept jumping on my feet. I was in love - rushed home to get the digital camera, but by the time I got back the boys had let my little squirrel toddle off into a backyard. I hope Mom found it or it found a safe place away from tomcats.
Saturday LARP was fun. Kindof. I HATE being stared at. We ate in Bancroft, and Jason had freshly shaved my hair that morning - it's a little short. I had it up in a braid - and every yabbo in the restaurant stared at me. Mind you, it could also have been me saying things like "orgasmic" and "Don't mind the Gimp!" *amused*
The kids in the game asked me last time how long I'd been Pagan, because of my pentacle, and I got a lot of these stares: O_O. This time around I got from one of them "So, like, I hear that you've been like practicing, FOREVER.". I wanted to slap my forehead with the palm of my hand, but I just smiled and nodded. I have forgotten what it is like to be 16. But on the plus side it means they enjoy talking to me, and feel comfortable being themselves around me, which is always good. They also seem to like my jewelry, so I will be bringing more around.
The rockcut face in Bancroft is so beautiful and dramatic when they light it up at night. If you live in Ontario go see it, just once. :)
Jeff BBQ'd dinner for us yesterday - steak. mmmmmm *drool*. It was fabulous. And I even liked the rice, which is abnormal for me. Thank you Jeff!! We had a great walk in the park with Peg, who decided to swim. We sat up in the pines and cedars and while the boys talked, I listened to crows. Mm. I think I want to do ritual up in the pines this year. MMm.
It's bright and breezy again today - I keep hoping for a thunderstorm to happen in the evening, but I somehow doubt it. I just love the rain-drenched freshness of the sunset after a storm.
Only 4 more days until the new bead store opens! I've also been informed my bead store at home has moved and expanded. Yay! ^_^ I love beads...probably too much, but it's a relatively harmless addiction. Beltaine this week as well - not entirely sure what I'm doing yet. Mrr. Bad Morg.
Ok...I have stuff to do around the house. Cleaning *yay*. Somehow just not in the mood. Take care and blessings.

Re:
Date: 2003-04-29 02:55 am (UTC)1 werewolf and 1 vampire game a month. I had between 60 and 100 players on the nights.
I must admit, I did tweak the werewolf rules to involve more live combat. But left the vampire stuff as was. I'm not a big 'paper scissors stone' fan.
Also played one in Cardiff. (Capital of Wales). That was the best Vampire game i'd been to. The GM's were more creative.
Cool. :)
