My mother drives me crazy.

I have been putting off calling my mother and telling her about my trip because I knew exactly what she'd say - "You don't have health insurance!". Lucky me...she went and proved me right.

Apparently if I try to go to the howl, I'm gonna spend two days at the border waiting to get through, get pneumonia on the airplane, wind up dying in an American hospital without health insurance, and costing Jason millions of dollars. All because I'm so stupid to even try to enjoy my life and travel without buying health insurance. Or the plane will blow up. Or I'll end up in a war camp. Or diabetes that is being properly managed is a fatal disease now. Or something. My mother is a NUT.

Hell, I can't even get health insurance, I bet - no-one insures diabetics. I don't care - I'm going! I am not so fragile as to fall apart when I start breathing American air.

This is the same woman that last October called me and said "Oh yeah, I'm flying to the Dominican Republic for a week tommorow - so don't call me on my cellphone, ok?". Gee, thanks for the notice, Mom.

AND....when I tell her I'm gaming (which I was) and I should get back to the table, she says "Ok, well fine...you're busy and you don't want to listen - I'll call you back when you're ready to listen to me, then".

ARGH! When I'm...ready to listen, but you're...calling..me... O_O

I give up.

I avoid calling mine b/c she always asks when the last time I washed the dishes was (other than the dishwasher and mate doing them, they kinda, uh, sit there).
It's good Alabama air you'll be breathing :) nice and fresh and good for ya!
One day you’ll walk the world
and keep in mind
The heart you’ve been given
in winter time
And through the bitter cold,
with opened eyes
You’ll find the strength to fight
and stand upright
