Neighbours SUCK.
Feb. 28th, 2003 03:19 pmMy upstairs neighbours suck. They really do.
Liath is in heat once a month, and unfortunetely she's a yowler. I can't shut her up. And usually I can't even find her - she's in the basement, hiding in the stone foundation under the kitchen, or behind piles of basement-dwelling crap. it's very annoying to not being able to shut her up.
However, my neighbours are now accusing her of sitting by the vent in our bedroom to scream, all day and all night, and they can't get any sleep. They say she's constantly in heat, every day all month for months now, and they aren't getting any sleep. Which she doesn't, because she gets beaten to death if she does - if you can't sleep upstairs, what makes you think we'd be sleeping with her yowling 3 feet from our bed? C'mon, folks - think a little.
And it is not my fault that you sleep during the day until 1 PM.
Liath has been upstairs for 2 days. She's been very quiet, and not allowed in the basement where all the noise is. But my neighbour still called at some point between 10 AM and 3 PM to tell me how much I suck and how god awful my cat is.
So yes - I'm cruel. I'm cruel because I can't afford to fix the cat that I took in. Her daughter started feeding Liath for a few weeks and then stopped feeding her because school started. When a starving cat cries at my window every morning for a couple of weeks looking for food...well, I'm not going to ignore it. I'm too soft.
I have complained twice about these neighbours - once, when 6 ot 7 teenaged idiots were on my porch on a Saturday morning shouting obscenities at one another through my open bedroom window, while I was attempting to sleep. Secondly, I complained about the porch light, which shines directly through our bedroom window again, being left on ALL NIGHT. Talk about not being able to sleep.
More noteworthy, I have never complaned about her 10-ish year old son who runs up and down the halls like an elephant, screams, stomps when he walks, and knocked our livingroom ceiling fixture loose. I have never complained about their dog who shits all over the lawn that they never clean up after. I never complained when the same dog BIT me, WHILE she was holding the fucking thing, OR that the dog will run out of the house at you through the screen door that doesn't close when you try to get the mail.
I have never complained when the dog barks all damn day and no-one's home OR about the washing machine that causes my entire kitchen to vibrate when it's on spin cycle OR about the fact they use our parking spit as visitor's parking OR the fact that their child plays the radio too loud 3/4 of the time OR that they fight like white trash outside our bedroom window at 4 AM when she's had too much to drink.
Why? Because it's part of having a neighbour. It SUCKS, but you generally deal with it.
Grr. I'm so very frustrated. I now have two strays that I brought in out of love and (perhaps misplaced) kindness. Mealla's never loud. Liath had kittens. I still have a freakin' kitten. I have *3* farkin' cats to fix, and I simply can't afford to do them all. Zathras, love my boy, is already fixed, but was an expensive little kitten.
It works like this: We could fix Kitten, and not have to worry about pregnant girls. Except he's also got a hernia needs fixin', and it'll be about $300 for the surgery. Mealla and Liath will both only be around $150 - so again, $300. And the vet'll wanna give them all shots first - add on $60. I don't have this sort of money.
And yet I don't want to give them to the shelter here in town, knowing they'll probably die.
I'm going out tonight. I can't leave Liath in the crate in the living room all night, and I know the bint upstairs will just complain again anyway, no matter what I do. So either I find homes for these cats, or $600. >_<
On a different note, my hair's dyed now. Film at 11.
