My world is frosty and white again - we are sitting in the midst of a snowstorm right now. It's beautiful...I want to be out running, howling...something. I dunno... even though I really enjoyed it being warm this week too. There's just something about a bunch of big fluffy snowflakes tangling in my hair and eyelashes and melting on my skin that makes me yip and hop and wanna wag my tail. Mmmrr!

I have art flowing in my mind's eye again. I see animal-folk, totems, tribemates, magick...it all wants onto paper, but I will release it slowly...make it last.

I watched Brotherhood of the Wolf, FINALLY, tonight. What a beautiful movie. I particularily liked the authenticity of the Mohawk/Iroqouis tattooing, and the dead woman in the pond they'd poisoned. She spoke volumes in her dead, languishing muteness, something fae about her white skin, her waving hair in the standing pool. Crow-woman.

Wendigo...heart of ice...shapeshifters of the Cree people. Moving through the snow of the storm...White. Everything's about white tonight. I felt very shifty through the movie, knowing that unspoken magick, the bond between souls from my own work with totems, my own reclaimed Wolf. I watched the pack move onscreen, and knew they'd chosen the right colour for those wolves - they could have been living, they could have been spirit. But they were white, and it felt right to me.

It has been a very good time. When I walk, I feel as if I'm leaving pawprints behind me again. Very good. :)

Now all I need is an Icee and a Hostess Fruit Pie and all will be right with my world. :)

Beast was leonine, I believe. It was said to have come from Africa, if I recall correctly, and it's eye was like that of a lion, no question.
One day you’ll walk the world
and keep in mind
The heart you’ve been given
in winter time
And through the bitter cold,
with opened eyes
You’ll find the strength to fight
and stand upright
