Water?

I have no water today. Literally. The city is working on the waterworks down the street, which means they've shut off the water to the houses down this block. Which is ok, I guess...

I'm just annoyed they didn't notify anyone beforehand. I mean...I have laundry to do, a floor to mop. I LIKE showers and brushing my teeth. I wish I'd known before I flushed the toilet this morning and it didn't fill up again. >_< I was going to paint, as well, except...no water, no paint. Bah! It sorks.

No...instead I will look like a slob all day, gross bedhead untamed by any hairbrush, wearing my pjs, drinking my only cup of tea since the kettle's empty. I will stare malevolently out the window at the "Road Closed" signs. I will simply not be pleasant, not now.

Edit: They turned my water back on around 3 P.M. - I am SO heading to the shower!

I dreamt last night that I was hanging out with my mother and her friend Mary Jane - except they were both too young, and Mary Jane had shaved hair that was bright pink. I got the sense, though, that this was not the Mary Jane I am familiar with - she looked very different, was smaller, and kept setting things on fire. O_o

She kept asking me what colour I should dye was going to dye my hair...actually, a lot of people kept asking. They kept saying green or blue. I should get off my butt one of these days and just do it.

On another topic...

I had a conversation with [livejournal.com profile] kodekitten last night about something I've wondered about, amused by the though. I jokingly refer to myself as the Anti-Were, since some people might have you believe that I am evil...and I think as Anti-Were, I should have awesome cool evil powers.

I've already claimed "The Sight" as my idea of an evil power, based on some silly kid's book...Morgra the Winter Wolf runs around with her ravens in the book and causes other wolves to suffer. I thought it was too perfect to pass up.

How about you? What do YOU think my Anti-Were Super Evil Power should be??

-m, burbling randomly away.

I'd have you firmly pegged with a more hands-on approach.

Omen-type curses... Voodoo dolls... Marvellous :)

Lots of flashy effects, crafty camera angles and props. Yea.

I read "the sight". The "evil" wolfess in the book acctually reminded me of you for some reason. Not because she's evil...but...she just did. =^^= IT FITS!

Umm...for a power...laser vision? =^^= I suck. Yesssssss...

I think a truely evil power would be the ability to squint real hard at someone, and make every possible inconvinience converge on their life. One bee isn't very ferocious, but if a swarm gets on your tail, you're screwed!

So, squinting and using The Sight would cause this person's battery to die, their favorite socks to grow legs and disappear, mud to be tracked all over the house with no apparant cause, lost keys, not enough money at the drive through, an extra thick stack of paperwork, the babysitter to cancel, the computer to die when your download is at 99%, your favorite CD to have a scratch JUST at your favorite part, your dinner date to cancel, your video rental place to close just as you drive up to return, the milk to go sour, your stamps for your bills to disappear, your messages to be accidentaly deleted before they're listened to, a downpour when you wear your favorite suede shoes and jacket, no more toothpaste, and a rat to leave you a "present" right on your bed as you try to get some rest.

PHEW! Please don't squint at me :P

Aww poop!

I was going to mention something about the book "The Sight" on your board because I thought you might be interested in it.

It's not exactly a kids book. It's by the same author of Firebringer, which is a great read in itself. The Sight is a great peice of work. I'm nearing the end of it now, and I've found it to be nothing but enjoyable (and heart wrenching) the whole time. Clement-Davis provides a great blend of true history with the wolves' experiences and spiritual beliefs. It makes for an interesting read if ya ever get the time. I think you'd really enjoy it.

BTW, Morgra does remind me of you. I don't think she's entirely "evil," just misunderstood. *shrugs*

One day you’ll walk the world
and keep in mind
The heart you’ve been given
in winter time
And through the bitter cold,
with opened eyes
You’ll find the strength to fight
and stand upright
