tattered little dreams, and a broken cup...

Sorta related to an older post: http://morgandria.livejournal.com/417618.html

I really don't like to meditate in the living room, where my working altar is. I prefer the bedroom, because my bed is comfy to sit on, and my grumpy bones and joints appreciate that. In the past, the bedroom has been the home of my working altar and most of my shrines, until the shrines took over the whole bloody surface area of the house. We also moved, and the bedroom here doesn't have space for my ritual workings and my working altar, let alone all the other shrines.

I need to meditate more. I really have been trying, but just wasn't feeling it. The dresser's too far away from the bed, and I have to face the open door and the light from the hallway, if I want to try to work with the stuff on the dresser. I can't close the door or the cats go batshit, so I just turn my back to the door...which leaves me facing away from the dresser. wheee conundrum. So...

I built myself a mediation shrine on the bedside. The three-drawer storage thing was originally in the closet, out of sight, but it added needed surface area, and also discourages the cats from jumping on my nightstand. I put up a paper hanging lamp,
removed the lamp from the nightstand, et voilĂ !

Nothing too fancy. Some elemental stuff, some candles, lots of rocks. The box is full of tiny shells and spare candles. The glass bowl is full of quartz crystals and pebbles, my prayer beads, and my pendulums.

I also read my tarot cards on the bed as well, so it'll be nice for that, too.

Very nice! I like the crystal formations on the right.
