Last night was the kind of night I distinctly remember. I would curl up on the front porch with Calico, a sweater and bare feet against the cold concrete step, watching the sunset paint rust and gold across a stand of trees in the fields. The grapevines in the bushes were always red, too, curling into a leathery dried version of their summer self. It was always sort of an evening sonata played out with crickets and geese, the wind in the trees, stray leaves; the cat and I retreating inwards to my room and some tea when my feet turned blue. The sky was so pale...a very crisp memory, one I can smell and touch and hear. Tactile.

I admit to being a very naughty witch yesterday. I did, in fact, do some weather-working because I despise the hot, sunny weather they were calling for. However, I do not mind lukewarm and rainy at all. So 27 C. and sunny became 20 C. and cloudy with showers. I feel accomplished; I know I've done much more extensive weather changes, faster, larger, more severe...but sometimes the measure of a person's control and power is in making the little changes, without causing so much as a bump in the road. Although I'm certain my latest bout of mucking with the weather systems will make them messed up for weeks, I don't really care what anyone else thinks. Somehow, I really need it to feel like fall.
Days like that aren't the same here in the city. They just don't carry the same kind of scope.

*kisses to Jason* Thanks for the help sleeping last night. Amazing, as always. Scorpios are honest-to-Deity sex gods in their own right. Last night was weird. I've been tired all week, headache-ridden, easily able to sleep and sleeping way late for my normal schedule. Last night? Couldn't barely sleep, finally dropped off at 2:30, woke up at 8 this morning. Borderline insomnia is worse than insomnia itself.

Yay! GST rebate is in today. I have things to buy...cat stuff, candles...you know, the REAL witch gear. >_< ! I'm craving a nice mug of apple cider and some french toast for dinner. Maybe I'll sucker someone into going for a walk in the park with me tommorow. Going to Jax's housewarming...need to get some supplies to make her gift. ;)

Alright. Done babbling. Haven't felt ok for a while...feelin' ok now.

One day you’ll walk the world
and keep in mind
The heart you’ve been given
in winter time
And through the bitter cold,
with opened eyes
You’ll find the strength to fight
and stand upright
