The 6th altar has arrived in my house, dedicated to Hathor. She is a name of Netjer who is a goddess of joy, dance, music, and drunken feasting. I had been having dreams came in a pattern about the colour blue, water, singing and a sense of joy for months...these dreams slowly transformed into dreams about Egyptian goddesses, dreams of Sekhmet, and sand and temples and women robed in blue and green...

Some of you may recall I attended a Hathor invocation ritual on the 13th. I enjoyed myself, danced myself stupid, exchanged gifts with Hathor, and feasted well. I felt like I had made a connection with Her, and was hoping that my dreams would lead me forward. I have never considered working outside the Irish pantheon before this time.

For those interested in knowing more about Hathor, here is a great link!

When I came home it was with a small cow's head with a horned solar disk given to me by my teacher Moira, and a lovely blue carnation that lived for 7 days after the ritual. I got a small blue candle holder out, lit up some kyphi and sandlewood incense, offered milk, and kept the flower in water...my small kitchen shrine was merry and bright, made the place smell great, and she would topple over her little clay cow's head when she wanted more incense and drink.

Today...well, today I went out, a little money in my pocket, and I was buying candles...and two sweet little candle holders caught my eye - shades of blue, iridescent rainbow sheened and round shaped. And I thought "Those would be perfect for my Hathor altar!"

And then I stopped, soon after I had purchased them. "Hathor altar? I don't have a Hathor altar..."

Well, I do now! XD

One day you’ll walk the world
and keep in mind
The heart you’ve been given
in winter time
And through the bitter cold,
with opened eyes
You’ll find the strength to fight
and stand upright
