I never do this. It feels to me (although I know it isn't) like begging...but I'm past that at the moment.

My stupid ankle is making life suck so hard right now. It is bruised from my toes to my knee on my left leg, I can't get comfortable when I stand, sit, or lie down, and I can't get any decent sleep because of it. Normal painkillers are not working anymore. It is weak, wobbly, and generally threatens to buckle over when I do more than walk to the kitchen for a drink and back.

If you can spare it, or have the inclination, please for the love of the Gods send me some healing. Pray, send energy, light a candle, do the dance of joy, or flaggelate yourself wildly...don't care how you do it. ;p

I'm already energyworking and communicating with Bríd about it, as well as iceing the ankle, soaking it, and keeping it wrapped. I am doiing something, for my part...it just doesn't seem to be enough.

Yarg. -_-

Rest! Ice! Compression! Elevation! This is the Holy Rede of sprains and big bruises. Stay off it; ice it (20 min on, 20 min off) to reduce the swelling; if you have an ACE bandage, wrap it from your foot towards your heart (this pushes the fluid back) but take it off when sleeping or if it becomes too tight or uncomfortable; elevate that puppy! at the level of your heart or above. Also, if it's not tender to the touch, gently massage the areas of swelling back towards your heart.

As it starts to recover, I'd look into getting an ankle brace to keep it from re-injuring. Following that, simple ankle exercises will help strengthen it against rolling again.

In the mean time, I hope you feel better. It's frustrating to be injured. Rest up! :)

I am a master of R.I.C.E at this point. :p I've known all that since I was about 10, and I perform it religiously when I have a sprain. I do the ankle exercises I learned when I was riding regularily, to keep it strong, and I've had a good ankle brace for a couple years that I wear a lot. It is all very good advice - advice that I put into practice.

This sprain is beyond all my experience and mundane skills. That being said...

Thank you. I am hoping it will start easing up a bit this weekend, at the 2 week mark since the injury...I would like to be able to start walking again.
One day you’ll walk the world
and keep in mind
The heart you’ve been given
in winter time
And through the bitter cold,
with opened eyes
You’ll find the strength to fight
and stand upright
