I was playing with my knock-off Dremel tool earlier. Antler is a bitch to carve! Especially when you don't know what you're doing quite yet, and you're a little spastic controlling the damn tool. And, of course, my knock-off's chuck is very loose, and will not hold the bits in tight at all - I have to stop every 30 seconds, even at the lowest speed, and put the bit back into the chuck. *sigh* Very frustrating. Makes me want a real Dremel now.

I did manage to produce a few things I don't hate, or didn't end up breaking:

Antler Pendants

I'm trying to convince myself they're "organic-feeling", rather than just wonky crap. Ah well. Practice will improve things in time, I hope.

all of them are very nice...atleast there still whole...I would have produced a lot of dust and had flying antler bits lol. I can't see how you managed to bear the smell of the things being cut though..even cutting antler with a hand saw stinks:( I love the paw print cut-out one...very cool :) If I had some big enough antlers I'd try and make you some slices..but mine are all ittsy and small *sigh*

The burnt antler smell didn't last too long, really...it was sort of uck when I was going, tho.

And through the bitter cold,
with opened eyes
You’ll find the strength to fight
