Stupid humid heat! Where the #@$! were you in, like, July, when you should have been here? I don't want this crap. Ugh.

My LARPers have all cleared themselves from involvement on Tuesday night, as I expected. So relieved! I still have, though, 30+ angry gamers willing to exterminate the person who took my stuff. Heh. It's an unholy army of the geek night. :p

I'm not as angry as yesterday. I'm still stressed about the whole thing, but I know if I do nothing but bead for the next week, I can put together around 50 pieces for the convention. If I do that, and haul out the tarot cards, it might give me some money to survive through October when Jason's not getting paid.

My website is becoming a problem. I want to host it with ehosting.ca, but the problem is my domain name has expired, and I can't transfer it now. I need to renew it, but with drak.net it's free with the hosting - so I have to either renew my hosting, or get them to transfer it to Dotster for me so I can then renew it and transfer it. I don't know if they'll even do that, and it'll cost me twice as much to do that. ARGH! So frustrating. I'm very tempted to just either renew the damn Drak.net for another year and be ready next year, or get a new domain name (which is a pain).

Of course, my server/domain all expired Tuesday night. Never rains but it pours, apparently.

Gotta call the cops again, gotta sort out domain name shit, and then I'm hitting Paragon City for a while.

If the domain registration has expired, you could possibly grab it again as a new registration. You might try contacting ehosting to see if they can help you out there, especially if you mention "I want to switch to you guys but...." and list out your problem there. I've had nothing but wonderful techincal service from them so far.

Looks like they are having a sale on domain registration currently too.

Also, make sure everything from your hosting is backed up on your harddrive, if possible now.

Everything's backed up. We looked at this:

To transfer from Drak costs $20 US. It's $8.95 US to get it out to Dotster (which is the only way I can get my domain out of Drak) and $14.95 US to register it. That's about $60 CDN. all told. Hosting at Ehosting is then $76 for one year, or $96 for 18 months. So...figure between $140 and $160 to get the whole thing settled and moved.

It's only $96 US (or $124 CDN.) to renew with Draknet, which has been stable and useable for the last 5-6 months. Since money's gonna be tight, I'll stay put for another year, I think, and make sure I'm not scrambling to move next time.
One day you’ll walk the world
and keep in mind
The heart you’ve been given
in winter time
And through the bitter cold,
with opened eyes
You’ll find the strength to fight
and stand upright
