Feeling odd still - like, confused odd. An amalgam of moods that are undefined in the mix. Really really hating this mania. It's worse than the depression side of bi-polar disorder, in a lot of ways.

Stupid cat knocked over my nightstand last night and spilled ice-cold water all over my side of the bed. Spent a couple hours on the couch letting it dry out before I curled up in the drier parts of the bed. Was dry when I woke up, at least. Stupid fucking cat.

Made a honey cake for tommorow. I want to know why it always falls in the middle - It's not the pan shape, apparently. :\

Must go out for butter and my stuff for tommorow so I don't go all wonky until the feast. Kinda amused I don't have to fast anymore.

So sore. Joints achy. That, and I have been having a lot of problems with numb hands - any time I lift them up so there's no blood flow to them they go numb and tingly. Blah. I don't know what's up with it.

Wish it was gonna be nicer tomorrow. I hope it is, anyway - I don't believe the Weather Network knows its ass from its' elbow anymore.

Raaaayvn - what did you and Aaaaandy maaaake me??? *so damn curious*

Frosty - good luck with the job interview!! I hope it goes well.

Tribe - love.

Barkie - LOVE love.

Mrr. Hungy. Should eat something - wish my stomach wasn't being angry at everything I eat. It's either anxiety, or it's ulcers. Either way, suckage.

Ok. Back to amusing myself. See you all on Monday.

Honey Cake:

3 oz. (6 tbsp.) butter
3 oz. (6 tbsp.) sugar
2 eggs, beaten.
4 oz. (1/2 c.) honey
8 oz. (1 c.) self-raising flour
1 level tsp. baking powder.

Set oven to 350 degrees F. Grease a 7-inch cake tin (NB: the pan doesn't seem to matter for shape or size) and line it with parchment, if desired (I generally don't and it seems to come out fine). Cream the butter and sugar. Add the eggs gradually and once mixed thoroughly beat in the honey. Sift together the flour and baking powder, and stir into the honey mixture.

Pour the batter into the cake tin, and bake for 45-55 minutes. The center of the cake always seems to fall and bakes slower than the sides, so test the center of the cake with a skewer - it should come out clean when the cake is done. Honey browns deeply, so it might look a little dark but is ok. If you keep an eye on it after the 45 minute mark it'll be fine.

When it's done leave it in the pan for 10 minutes, and then turn it out onto a cooling rack. This cake stays moist and tasty for a long time, but is a little crumbly when cut. Excellent snacking cake. :)

Many many thanks. I'll try that as soon as I can. :)
One day you’ll walk the world
and keep in mind
The heart you’ve been given
in winter time
And through the bitter cold,
with opened eyes
You’ll find the strength to fight
and stand upright
