Hehe...

So Morgy went to Mass with her friend Jeff this morning. NO, I didn't burst into flame. NO, lightning didn't strike me dead. I rather enjoy Catholic churches, if not Catholic religion, and it was fairly good. I learned two things at Mass today:

  • 1. Jesus is Shiney(!!).
  • 2. Jesus is very crowded.

Well, kinda. *grins* Jesus' representation on the cross that they carry up and down the aisles with the crackers and wine is very shiney. And if we were all to "live in Christ" like the priest said, I figure he'd get pretty crowded.

    Aaaanyway...

Jeff's hosting a pair of German pilgrims for World Youth Day at his house, which was why we went. We had a picnic lunch on the lawn of the cathedral, which was fun. Altho...in the fruit bowl, someone had two whole limes, in with the apples and oranges and etc. LIMES? Who the heck eats limes? *LOL*

The Irish pilgrims started a ceilidh on the lawn, we had some clog dancers, and the German pilgrims sang too. I was introduced to Father Stan, one of the parish priests from Africa, who wanted to know if Jeff and I were married. When I said no, my boyfriend was at home, he wanted to know when Jason and I were getting wed! We could do it at the cathedral - he would do it for us! What a hoot. And yes, I was a well-behaved pagan today. ;)

Afterwards we took the "kids" (*laughs* Matteus and Norbert are in their 30's) up to the Curve Lake reserve and talked about Canadian history, as well as having a good look around the gallery, looking at the historical artifacts downstairs, and taking silly pictures with the 8 foot tall stuffed animals by the fireplace. They also got a taste of some buffalo jerky. A good time...and lots of pretty dragonflies.

So it was hot, the humidity was vile, but I had a really good day. It was nice to spend some time out with the germans, who are really nice, and see the energy of all those Irish kids! I think I miss singing, too. So yeah...busy hot day. Gonna just veg in the A/C tonight and enjoy it. :)
