Eggplants. Funny poisonous looking things, fat and waddly. Incredibly bitter. No known nutritional value. Needs a lot of treatment to be palatable, and still no-one wants to eat it.

Yeah. Pomegranite also looks like garnet, which I'm pretty sure I bleed, at this point. Eat teh garnetz nomnomnom...

Eggplants are bitter?
They're wonderfully sweet with a smooth buttery texture when they've been sliced and fried up with spices.
They're great in stir fries and pad thai.
I would say they're almost like zucchini because they also tend to adopt the flavor of whatever they've been cooking in.

I love eggplant and they're beautiful.

I don't like zucchini either, or most kinds of squash. I hate that soft, seedy, nasty texture.

I say bitter because eggplants are part of the nightshade family, and there's alkaloids in them that create a bitter flavour. I'm extremely sensitive to bitter tastes - I have that weird gene that makes you a supertaster for bitter - other people will eat the same thing as me, and
it will not taste like anything to them.

I think it's strange that you relate yourself to a vegetable you do not like. Does this mean you don't like yourself?
In the very least - you are wrong about people not liking Eggplant and therefore you. I like them both very much!
