Happy Canada Day!!

Canada rocks! Today our nation is 135 years old! *celebrates*

It's also 45 Celcius with the humidex, and the air quality is very poor. I will be celebrating in the A/C, thank you very much. I love my country. I couldn't see myself living anywhere else in the world, no matter how much it appeals to me at the time. Esp. Ontario...man, I LOVE this place. Our wilderness, our resources, our people; I couldn't have asked for a better place to be born and raised. Canadians may be a quieter lot than our southern neighbours, but we're just as passionate about our home.

Speaking of celebrating...I still haven't gotten around to doing my Summer Solstice ritual. Mebbe tommorow will be a good day. My friend Brent brought me back some mead from War Practice (he's a SCAdian) this weekend, so I have an excellent drink for the ritual. I need to bless my kitties.

Moved the litter box upstairs today - I don't want my pregnant cat having her kittens in the basement, so I'm trying to close it off to the cats. Hense why I moved the box upstairs. It's in the kitchen, since that's the only real space for it, but it shouldn't be that bad. Jason's all pissy with me because I moved it; it seems he doesn't see why anything should change just because she's gonna have kittens, and he's certainly not being that helpful.

Our basement is so gross right now; it floods when it pours rain, and it's making shit mouldy. hense another reasons cats no go in basement right now. I need to go through and throw out all the mouldy crap, (boxes, carpets, old clothes, etc.), and then find a dehumidifier. It's SO nasty down there. And the worst part is there's a cold air return in our bedroom, so the musty gross smell is coming up from it. Blearg. Just another reason to burn more incense, I suppose. :p

Ah well. I have to finish my laundry and get that all done. I'm getting funny about cleaning because of the August long weekend; I hate having company when the place is not "Virgo-clean". Virgo-clean is a Zen like state of paranoia over dirt, and being insane about it. Hell, I polished the chrome on the toaster last night. THAT is Virgo-clean. By the time my guests arrive (yay family!) the place should be spotless, but I'm trying to tell myself not to get all wound up over it.
