Nov. 2nd, 2006 08:55 pmtonight, after saying my goodbyes to J's parents after his birthday dinner, I walked out to the car to clean it off.
After 3 inches of snow, we had clear skies, wind-driven clouds scudding across a near-full moon. The moon itself made everything glow that blue-white beauty, heavily-laden cedar trees and naked birch reaching for her...and my footprints the first to touch the snows. I still get the same sense of awe, and wonder, and that touch of ecstatic joy, after all these years.
Of course, we saw 2 cars off the road not 5 minutes from there, and the snows are coming down fast and furious, and we still have laundry to do at the laundro. But still.
I feel spoiled. :>
