Why is it...

when I have guests coming next week, and am away 3 weekends out of the four this month...

that Leanan suddenly decides...

he needs to pee on the couch again?

He hasn't peed on anything since July 17th, when he came back to us from 3 days of living outside for the weekend.

This week he has had lots of cuddles, he's slept with us in bed, he's had lots of treats, he's had playtime with his feathers every day. There is nothing he wants for.

I hate this feeling. I hate knowing he's a lost cause. I really don't know what to do.

All I know is I do *not* fucking have time for this, and I really resent having to close off half my home's airflow because of one screwed-up cat.

Erf. :( Maybe he's reacting to emotional stress of the humans in the household? I'm running out of ideas though.

:(

Maybe he just needs to be an "outdoor" cat?

I dunno. It just sucks, and I'm sorry that you have to deal with it.

He's never been an outdoor cat. He'd die. He was shocked enough to discover what summer is actually like since it was the first year of his life we haven't had air conditioning.

...of course, I'd like to just toss him outside and shut the door on him, sometimes.

I don't know what to do to make him stop, but I found an excellent product that gets rid of the smell. It ACTUALLY WORKS!

I don't think we can get that in Canada.
One day you’ll walk the world
and keep in mind
The heart you’ve been given
in winter time
And through the bitter cold,
with opened eyes
You’ll find the strength to fight
and stand upright
