Summer's here...
May. 8th, 2006 11:16 am...although it didn't bloody feel like it! We were beating the bounds chanting "Winter Out, Summer In" as the temperature slowly sank to sub-zero Celcius. In even in cloaks, we were witch-sickles. Bare feet on damp ground did a lot to further the cold.
So Beltaine was a bit subdued this year, but it was still Beltaine. There was fun and food and family, and that's the important part. We danced, we chased, Pan made his yearly appearance, and all was well.
The land at the covenstead is awakening. The trees are fruiting more. The grass is more lush, the earth seems richer, and there are ground flowers all over the yard, around the circle especially, that didn't bloom there before. It's really very interesting to feel.
I feel like I dropped a lot of the crud I've been carrying all winter. It's not riding around anymore. So that is good.
Here's hoping to a beautiful, rich summer.
