And here we are, nearing May. Beltaine for me is the 6th of May, so I still have time to prepare all the stuff I'll need. I have a ton of cooking to do. I have a nasty suspicion it is going to be cold and wet, and I will still be outside, so I'm packing lots of warm things for when we're there. We are hoping it'll be decent enough to let us have a fire, at least.

I was given a stick during the Bríd invocation in February as a stand-in for my non-existent spear. It was what we called the "Tyr-stick" - D. would take it out with him when he took Tyr, their hound, out into the yard. So..since it was my weapon as one of Bríd's warriors, it's now my Tyr-stick. Except I gapped out, and didn't bring it home until last weekend when I was reminded. It's a stang - two-pronged fork on top - and I took it down to bare wood and sharpened the prongs on Tuesday. I will be putting something hound-ish - knotwork or something - on it somewhere, and hopefully staining it a rich red colour. I call it Cú-ùrlann - literally 'Hound Spear-staff'.

This weekend? Not so much with the anything. Some shopping, time at home sitting around, some City of Heroes. We've been away so many weekends that this is entirely a good thing.

I haven't been talking to anyone. Certainly nothing new.

Zathras doesn't seem well right now. He's been sitting in a chair he doesn't normally sit in for nearly a day now,. He's eating, but I don't know that he's alright, since he doesn't purr when I touch him. Normally he purrs when I look at him. He's not bugging me at the computer, either. :( He just sits in his chair. I hope my boy is ok. If this persists we'll have to see a vet.

I've been reading - I got a copy of Deborah Lipp's 'Elements of Ritual', and 'Way of Four'. They're well-written, and good to have, but they're not sparking anything in me like I hoped they would. 'Way of Four, is interesting, but mostly in a "I already knew that" sort of way. 'Elements of Ritual' kinda bogs down about 2/3 of the way through, and becomes slightly more obtuse to read.

Oh well. I have housework needing to be done. Be well.

One day you’ll walk the world
and keep in mind
The heart you’ve been given
in winter time
And through the bitter cold,
with opened eyes
You’ll find the strength to fight
and stand upright
