More walking today. Wasn't planning on it, but I still feel like I need to be outside. Dug into the prosperity box where I'd had a few coins stashed away, and bought lampshades at the dollar store for the three stand lamps we've got. I wasn't expecting to find them there, but they're new, apparently. The house is, at last, finished. I like tabletop and stand lamps - the light they put out is soft, warm, and intimate, and makes a home cozy and welcome.

The wind here is fresh and full, today. I have a touch of windburn from my wandering, but I don't mind. It cleared my mind, cleared some of the ache out of my body. I have a fresh scent in my nostrils...that wine-damp rot of leaves, cold northern air touched with frost, large water close by. The wolf-me is pleased with this.

The edges of the world are peeling back.

One day you’ll walk the world
and keep in mind
The heart you’ve been given
in winter time
And through the bitter cold,
with opened eyes
You’ll find the strength to fight
and stand upright
