Busy weekend at the covenstead. I hurt myself Friday, being tired and overheated and under-fed and standing too long outside whilst in handmaiden mode...left me shaky and in poor shape. I think I started setting up the ritual space at 2:30....wasn't anything I could snack on there, so I drank a lot of water, grinned, and bore it....which did me fine until about 8 PM when I started to fade pretty badly. We didn't get into ritual until 11 PM, and then they went right into another coven rite (neophytes and up only) so I didn't get to eat....I couldn't wait for them to finish, as it was already midnight and I was done. I finished ritual and then came home and went straight to bed. One of the guests who showed up was a totally ignorant, loudmouthed little thing who tended towards the dramatic. Ugh. On the positive side, the candleholders I made for the quarters are perfect.

Yesterday we didn't rush, went out to the house later than usual, and I decided to abstain from ritual that night. Good thing I did - I was utterly burnt out on being social, and very tired still, and still incredibly shaky for some reason. J helped with the outdoor cooking, and I spent some time beading and talking to the coven's bard. It was good. Waiting for things to get going and then to eat at midnight? Not so good. Loud-Thing with her mighty Powers-of-Stupidity made even more of an ass of herself - "It's like watching your parents kiss" is not an appropriate thing to say when the priest and priestess are doing the wine blessing! Gifted jewelry to people and everyone was happy with that.

Went out later again today. I was much more alert and less burned out, but the day was hotter and it drained me fairly quickly. Had some food, made some Fire incense [is good!], hung out under the trees and talked. Found out we're doing a different invo than I thought at next year's Convocation, so I have to re-think the regalia I had planned. I am also going to get to go to the Isis invo in August! So yay! More henna feet. :) Today felt better for me, but it was less chaotic, with no sense of "Hurry Up and Wait". Also, there were less people around, notably the absense of Loud-Thing. We packed up around 5:30, spent a leisurely evening at home. The A/C is having a hard time keeping up with the weather...it's not really cool in here right now.

So lessons learned:
- I must start packing my own snacks and things for the covenstead, so I don't get stupid again.
- I can actually make my own incense and it doesn't suck.
- People really do like my jewelry and will pay what it is worth. :>

Ok....cold shower now. Ugh. Stupid heat.

Edit: Hey hey! We got our RenFaire back!

One day you’ll walk the world
and keep in mind
The heart you’ve been given
in winter time
And through the bitter cold,
with opened eyes
You’ll find the strength to fight
and stand upright
