It's calm and quiet here right now. So different from the previous week!
Friday went fast. That woman never had anyone come to change the locks, so we didn't have to worry about anyone in the house this weekend, or the cat. Of course, mid-Saturday stupid woman called wanting to be let into the house, after I had told her we were going to be away all weekend. She had no-one to blame but herself. Was up late cooking that night, for Beltaine feast.
Saturday came, brilliant, clear, and warm. It was a beautiful day. Lots of work at the covenstead, but the ritual was fun and busy, and totally worth it. I met some great new folks, and since I'd dragged
jlindsay with us, he got to meet everyone for the first time. My new rob looks fabulous, but is NOT meant for running around in, and I'm gonna need some time to get used to it, instead of tugging at it all the time. Lots of fun games occured, a spirited Beltaine chase, and even one fabulous rendition of the Llama song, replete with orange and rake. Jason is desirous of a pair of goat's horns like David's... :p I ate lightly of the feast, since technically I was fasting, but what I did have was amazing. Bitterballen get better everytime I eat them. :) I stayed up until 2:30 AM, talking and singing on the sunporch with my covenmates. Bloody amazing fun.
I spent the weekend mostly on water and Gatorade, so by the time I got up Sunday I was pretty out of it. Jason and I stayed out in our tent in the backyard, and it was chilly overnight but nice once the sun warmed the tent up. Sunday was an even better day than Saturday - it made me feel good for the offerings to Lugh I had made. I was dedicated on the most beautiful noontime, and the ritual was utterly lovely - I really like the name that was given to me. I also am proud that I remembered the whole self blessing, that I learned to tie the knot the coven uses to tie their cingulums, and that I was given an Outer Court cord.
I couldn't stop smiling. I especially couldn't stop smiling after a bevy of presents made their way to me (which I was NOT expecting and was really honoured by) and I got to eat SOOOO much for breakfast. Then I fell asleep on the lawn about an hour later. I was wiped. I've been so relaxed since Saturday, not even a broken ignition key for the car ruffled my calm. We ended up calling CAA and having the car towed to the house. We finally got home and I got a shower and washed off the mud rubbed into my skin and pretty well crashed. It was a good crash, tho - I had an excellent, fun weekend with my coven family. :)
Today was just spent running around. We did groceries and cat stuff, and then
otherjeff drove us to Jason's parents and back so we could get the spare keys for the car. Jason drove back tonight...and then tommorow is LARP, so he'll be a tired goat-wolf-boy from the driving. But it was again a lovely day, and the drive was good, so I really didn't mind.
But now the Morg is tired (and slightly frustrated from trying to find the meaning of her new name and finding nothing helpful at all), so she shall retire to her bed. :>
