He bought two fifths of lead-free gasoline
Said, the bottle is dusty, but my engine is clean
He bought a nice blue suit with the money he could find
If his bride didn't like it, St. Peter wouldn't mind...

Another 12" of snow tonight...white and swirling out there.

Winter is different here. At least here there IS snow - something I grew up with, and missed in Peterborough. Here, tho...there's *SNOW*. I hope I don't get sick of too soon.

It doesn't get cold-cold here, tho. At home, in the Valley, it can get down to -30, -40 C...here, it doesn't get so bitter. Suppose that's good.

I miss the hoar-frost, and the north wind off the river, and the endless sculpted frozen drifts under moonlight.

But here, there's swirling clouds of snow, and the crescent moon just shining through the squall.
It's enough.
One day you’ll walk the world
and keep in mind
The heart you’ve been given
in winter time
And through the bitter cold,
with opened eyes
You’ll find the strength to fight
and stand upright
