Posetively fabulous evening and ritual with Wolfmoon Coven. More tommorow. :)

However, there is nothing like coming home to a trashed Yule tree, replete with glass and glitter covered floor and a broken star. :(
Can't leave my damn fur twits alone for an evening.

Awake.

Too early, methinks, but the nose goblins have returned. I was fine yesterday - a brief reprieve - but I think it was a small gift from the Gods. Now I'm sore throated and very stuffed up with that pond-scum coloured variety of nose goblin. Ugh!

And yes - last night I came home to see my tree not vertical, but horizontal on its table, branches everywhere, lights pulled off, ribbon pulled off, a shattered ornament or two all over the floor, and my star topper shattered so badly it doesn't sit on anything anymore. Given that it's always Liath and Meallá who are in the bloody thing trying to destroy it, I'll hazard a guess it was them. So now I have to take the whole thing apart and down, and put it up again. I don't know how to make them stop playing with it so I can leave them alone with it. :\

But I might get a faery-tree-topper out of the disaster.

So yes...on to last night, with Wolfmoon Coven. First thing we did was head to the Occult Shop for incense. Mmm. My elemental blends, and some dragon's blood. It'd be great if I could smell them better, but they are happy-making anyway. :) Then we made sure we had the right place, parked the car and went and had dinner because we were still 2 hours early.

After dinner we came back, and DUDE! SO cool! Super comfortable, almost instantly - which is virtually unheard of with me. I felt very welcome in [livejournal.com profile] misslynx and [livejournal.com profile] ladyjane's home, and really enjoyed meeting them and [livejournal.com profile] cleasai. And they have more cats than I do. ;) Jason played with LadyJane's meezer Wonton, who reminded him very much of Zathras (funny that - we think Zathras is part Siamese). Their apartment is gorgeous - all dark woods and beams and archways! And books...Jason and I have that many books, but just not that much space.

I hope no-one minded my somewhat inexperienced performance in ritual last night. Being a solitary with some group experience helped, and some things were the way I do them here at home, but I just didn't want to mess anything up. Everything felt stable and strong, tho, so I couldn't have been that bad.

We made contact with a Roman goddess of only trees - and I cannot spell her name o.o - and it was very different for each of us. It made me go back to my grandfather's trees, to his big pine in the back yard, and the trilliums in the spring, and the crows in the branches. The Lady's voice was deep and soft...it carried on the wind. She told me to go back to my roots. So maybe I'll have to go see the trees over Christmas when I'm there. It was a very hushed, soft ritual - we didn't move much, but it worked perfectly in the space there. It was something I very much enjoyed, and look forward to working with Wolfmoon Coven again. :)

I have to remember to take the rowan branch I found to Andrew next time - it was waiting for me to find out what to do with it, and it seems appropriate to go with him, somehow. And everyone liked my cookies! And yay! Jason wants to maybe participate next time. :D Yay! Spooty! We're going back the 19th - the Full Moon, at that. Loverly. I so wanna let my wolf-self out and enjoy ritual. I haven't howled in so long... :D Really really happy.

Merf. So I need to go deconstruct the deconstructed tree further, put it up again, and finish some other work. I'll be around.

Woo. I really do have wood - actual rowan wood, not some reference to an erection. :p That would be rather difficult in my current state of sex. They're not the best pictures, but what are ya gonna do? The natural hollows of the branch have a crystal and a polished hematite set in them, and they just fit perfectly - no glue or epoxy or anything. It's lightly oiled in some things that suited the sensibilities of the piece, and it's about 2 feet long, and 2 inches across at the widest point. The grain on the wood is lovely. :) I'm glad it chose a home with someone who will obviously take good care of it.

This is the side of the branch with the crystal and hematite.
This is the back side, and it shows off the grain on the wood rather nicely.
The whole branch, from the back side.

Woot. :)

One day you’ll walk the world
and keep in mind
The heart you’ve been given
in winter time
And through the bitter cold,
with opened eyes
You’ll find the strength to fight
and stand upright
