witchscauldron: (wingedwoof)
I've noticed in the last couple months a...calling, I guess. A pull. I feel the need to explore dragonflies - the way their wings are shaped, all crystalline and delicate. The beautiful colours they iridesce. They're swift, free little pretty-shinies; I'd want to collect them if I could.

This weekend kinda capped off a long suspicion that Dragonfly has been trying to get my attention; I saw so many sweet little flying jewels in the yard while I was out playing bohemian barefoot witch. Three of them landed on me, at various points in time; a sacred number. So I'm paying heed, and trying to figure out what they're saying.

In doing research here, my reoccurring water/library dream has become entwined in the process. This is what Animal Spirits puts forth as some lessons Dragonfly offers:

  • Mastery of life on the wing
  • Power of flight
  • Power to escape a blow
  • Understanding dreams (*important, ne?*)
  • Power of light
  • Breaking down illusions
  • Seeing the truth in situations
  • Swiftness
  • Change
  • Connection to Dragon

Well, I read these, and it makes sense. Dragonfly has probably been in the background the whole time since Imbolg, but I haven't seen her until now. I hope that she can help me find the meaning of this dream, since it seems so important...and she is still here to teach me, so I hope I will learn. It will come; until then, I am content to bask in delight over Dragonfly's glowing colours.

  • One day you’ll walk the world
    and keep in mind
    The heart you’ve been given
    in winter time
    And through the bitter cold,
    with opened eyes
You’ll find the strength to fight
    and stand upright
