Today has been an odd day, but not a bad one. Up early (for me) to dye Brandon's hair before his con went well - the colour came out perfect, and he's very happy. I hope the Brat Pack has a good time.
I then mopped the floor - mmm clean.
Jason's mother paid for us to fix up the BBQ we were given free. It was a rusty, grease encrusted pit...now it's a clean, humming machine with a new burner and new lava-rocks. I'm happy to have it - it means cooking outside on the BBQ instead of heating up the kitchen crazy bad. Jason was happy to putter with it.
Weeded my garden - my nasturtiums are coming up great. :) Looking forward to salad with blossoms in August. I cleaned out our porch, and got rid of so much clutter. Jason's gonna put up a bookshelf in there, and and file most of our free-floating papers later, so this too will make me very happy.
Having a garage to store things in really really really helps. :D
We got the old desk out of the yard and into the garage, so now it looks even MORE like a real yard. I wish I could get Clint to clean up all the remnants left in the yard, but for now I'm pretty damn content. It's so clean I could have people come camp in it if they wanted to visit. It's so clean we could spread out a bunch of blankets and have a great day outside in the shade of the big maple. It's so clean it feels like a green space, instead of a craphole. I don't feel like white trash anymore.
I'm about to go out and get some apple blossoms. Jason's grilling dinner and reading a book. My yard looks great. I have a comfy place to sit under my tree by my outdoor altar, and just enjoy it. I'm in-tune with my home for the first time in a long time, and it just feels really really good.
I'm going to try to be productive with the rest of the weekend, too. I have some pendants to make, some plates to get some paint on, my signs to get printed for C-ACE, and I'm still trying to track down a graphic for Other Jeff.
Happy May 2-4, folks. :)
