I cleaned the yard today - OH how good it is to say that. :p I've gotten old. A rake and some yard bags excite me, as did some gardening tools. :) I think I motivated the guy across the street, too - about 15 minutes after I started, he came out with his two little girls and they started cleaning their yard, too. Hurrah for clean yards!
The space in front of the porch was the worst - about a million bottlecaps and cigarette butts, as well as a casing from a firework (!), a million sticks from playing with their asshole dog, and some broken glass. I am so glad they are leaving in a month!
I got all the crappy dead leaves, garbage, and dead grass off the yard; now we can reseed the lawn. Gonna tackle the side yard sometime - it needs a lot of work, probably more than I can give it, but I can clean up some of it.
We're gonna reclaim the garage, too, when they leave - get some of the crap off the side yard and out of sight. This place might not look like a slum anymore - what a thought.
I'm putting in flowers this year. I have pretty rocks and my lantern out there for the moment...I'm going to plant batchelor buttons and nasturtiums in the beds. I might get some wildflower seed and go along the fenceline in the side yard with it - definetely planting something under my tree. :)
Gotta eat, gotta get ready to head up north. TTYL. :)
-M, watching her hands turn black and blue and her thumbs turn green.
