Shiny shiny.
Mar. 8th, 2004 10:28 amI didn't find a whole lot at the show yesterday. I bought some nice labradorite, but left it at that. There were lots of beads I wish I could have afforded, tho. Mm. Lovely rainbow moonstone, gorgeous garnet...and strings of drilled kyanite blades - they looked like blue fangs and touching them was like holding onto lightning. I wish! I ended up back at the house beading for the day with my labradorite.
My labradorite ended up in a three-strand arrangement, with matching grey delicas. I think I will wear this with my silver dress, or when I'm feeling stormy.
The iolite ended up in two things: I made a necklace for me, and I made a necklace for Starfall called The Pillars of Ishtar. I love beading for Elfy. :)
I still have two rosaries for sale. $25 each, shipping included in North America (add $3 if outside North America). Not sure they'll go anywhere, but again - I have to try.
Colourful Chunky Rosary - pewter pentacle and Sun connector, bright glass beads of all kinds.
Celtic Rosary - knotwork charm, double spiral connector, blue and clear glass beads. Only three dropped beads - Land, Sea, and Sky rather than 4 elements.
So yeah. Today I am making oatcakes for Wendy and possibly nudging Other Jeff to see if he will take me to the gaming store for dice. Mmm dice.
Contemplating Ostara wouldn't hurt either, I don't think. Mreh.

Rock Show
Date: 2004-03-08 09:09 am (UTC)Anyway, the rock show was awesome! I too got the lab chips...such beauties. Your interpretation of them is beautiful ... very lab worthy! Just love the lab! You amaze me with the speed at which you bead! I went Saturday and am still watching the patterns form in my head! Got some tiny lab and moonstone coins that are overwhelmingly inspiring...some crazy wierd, haunting opalized "quartz" which is really Chinese glass (note to self: email vendor who sold it as quartz.) A good learning experience and still very beautiful beads, though not stone. Also aquamarine, iolite, amethyst, lab and moonstone cubes. Dripping with my saliva now, sorry to say. STUNNING green Tsavo garnet and STUNNING red garnet diamonds for BSBCo, among other tasties. Oh, STUNNING Baltic Amber! Sorry to gush.
Your iolite bead necklaces really do the beauties justice. Are the larger beads iolite as well? Or what?
Bead more!
Wendy

Date: 2004-03-08 09:19 am (UTC)Yes, I am baking the oakcakes JUST for you. Go ahead and feel spoiled. :p I will probably come in tommorow afternoon to BSBCo, to see the garnet, and contemplate further projects. I really feel like I need more silver pendants at the moment - I really want to bead some nice silver - and I am just about out of silver spacers. Ah...if money grew on trees....

Re: Rock Show
Date: 2004-03-08 09:29 am (UTC)Please don't envy me, dude, rejoice in my luckiness! This is my birth month after all! Plus I was able to get more than usual (which is usually next to nothing!) this time because of my "slavery" while a certain couple were away in the Caribbean! So these are the stones of my sweat that you are envying...yuk. And a lot of creative visualisation and years of not getting stones.
I can't wait to see what I do with my iolite cubes...my first iolite ever was from you!
Lovin' that colourful rosary.

Alos, the package is just about ready for you, but one of the local craft stores has its beads going on sale soon, so I figure I'll check that out before sending anything your way.
:)
Also, I have to find out about sending Mead accross the border.
